10km 40:47 (NOMAN Ibiza-Barcelona, run session 3)

*20 days until the race*

I was daydreaming about running at work so I put together a 50/50 road/trail route in my head on the way home. I was pretty excited to get back, pull on my Adidas Adizero Adios Boost and get out the door into the evening sunshine!

I REALLY enjoyed the run!

My legs felt a bit heavy but my mind, heart and soul felt light as a feather running in the sunshine with a big smile. I pushed hard on the uphills and did my best to keep the pace up on the flat! Even though my legs felt more sluggish than I’m used to and I didn’t really feel like I was pushing too hard on any given sections Strava tells me I lowered my 400m PR from 73 seconds down to 67 and my Garmin Connect splits read pretty well too:

5km 20:33, 7km 3:23 (my fasted klick of the run) 8km 32:00 and my final 10km total of 40:47.

If I wasn’t doing my sea survival course I’d be tempted to enter my local 10km road race and improve on last year’s 7th place finish! Alas, survival at sea definitely comes before local glory!

That’s it from me today dear reader, on the ‘morrow I shall be getting back in the saddle and logging a two hour ergo session before hitting open water in the race boat for the first time on Sunday!
