I really enjoyed my workout this evening – I put in a lot of effort on each 30 minute split and took a one minute break after the first 30 minutes and two minute break after 60 minutes before rowing on to the full 90 minutes. My average heart rate was 157bpm which I’m happy with as it sits inside my MAF pace for running meaning I should be able exert that amount of effort, fairly comfortably for a decent amount of time – as I’ll be rowing 2 hours on and 2 hours off (or a variation depending on crew size and composition) I’m hoping to be averaging between 151 and 162bpm per shift but only time and weather conditions will tell if that’s a decent goal or pie in the sky! Today’s rowing metrics are:

Aside from the workout I have finalised details for my pre-race party and this will be at Somers Town Coffee House, 60 Chalton Street, London NW1 1HS on Saturday July 11th from 1500hrs – anybody is welcome to come down for a beer and chat! It would be great to meet some of my readers so if you are in town and looking for something to do on that particular Saturday don’t be shy.
