17km 1:21:57 (Ox Ultra 56k, session 12)

*This post was written on April 30th*

I travelled over to Smethwick from Dudley today to pay a surprise visit to my Ma.

After dropping my gear off and getting ready for a run I went off to explore some woods where I used to play as a kid.

I just ran on feel and didn’t look at my watch while I was out, I was really enjoying running somewhere new! The route covers 2km of road and then I ran 2 clockwise and 2 counter clockwise loops of Warley Woods followed by the 2km of road back to my Ma’s.

The trail wasn’t technical trail like yesterday but there were some roots to contend with. Yesterday’s run had 197m of gain and today’s had 200m so I’m definitely going to miss running here when I return tomorrow – I barely get 50 to 80m on my usual local trails!

Peace Out x

We have some hills but they’re not very long ascents or descents – this is why the treadmill is very important right now!
