Workout Soundtrack: Sepultura – ‘Beneath the Remains’

5.02km 19:04 (5 in 18:57) (Frankfurt Marathon, session 9a – tempo)

1 minute rest

1.5km 6:00 (Frankfurt Marathon, session 9b – warm down)

Today was my day off but it has been busy! I was up early to sort out some life admin before heading off into London for a job interview…I think it went well but who’s to tell?! I should find out on Friday.

Anyway dear reader, this will be a very short post today as I’m trying to get everything sorted before Gabs arrives for dinner! I got home from my interview, put my shirt into the wash and then power hiked it down to the supermarket and back for supplies (read: carbs, protein, beer and wine) and then as soon as all of that found it’s way into my cupboards and fridge I turned around again and went out for a short tempo effort.

The run was amazing. It felt great to be running pretty close to my fastest time of the year for 5km (18:51) and when I returned home and checked Strava and MapMyRun I was pleased to see 18:57 registered for the distance. After a short break I set off towards home at a best effort pace and I was pleased with that too! It wasn’t too difficult to maintain at around 3:58/4:00 for the 1.5km to the front door. So, that’s it for today. I’m off to eat some chicken, drink some beer and to chill with Gabrielle! Tomorrow we’re going on our first run together for a while and I’m looking forward to it as yesterday she ran the furthest she ever has and for the longest – 13km in just over an hour…I wonder what’s in store on the ‘morrow?!

Hope you’re all having a great Tuesday!

Peace Out x
