It rained! A LOT!
I am now very wet and very cold, waiting for the kettle to boil so I can have a green tea and then a hot shower. It was such a great workout though and I loved every second of it…even the 1.5km section where hard falling hailstones battered every bit of exposed skin!
During the second part of my run I would really have loved to have my Berghaus Elite smock but when I set off with my friend Tom the sky was blue and the dark clouds looked so far away, we both decided to head out light with just the essentials: shorts, singlets, socks and shoes! I set off hoping to use Tom as a rabbit to my 3 or 5km PR but, alas, it was not meant to be today. It was a fantastic run during the first section and I did manage to beat my Garmin Connect 5km PR which previously stood at 19:34 – I’ve had my Garmin since August 2013 and my actual PR (17:47) was set in pre-Garmin days back in 2012.
I am now on a mission to hit that sub 19:00 before the end of June and then to take down the 17:47 by the end of the year!
So, with that rather short post dear reader, I shall sign off for today and look forward to running a fair bit slower with Gabrielle tomorrow and hopefully with no rain or hail to contend with 😉
