In 2014 I have decided to run all of my road races in aid of London’s Air Ambulance, also known as HEMS (Helicopter Emergency Medical Service).
They do some awesome work for people of all ages and backgrounds within the M25 area – their motto is ‘TRAUMA DOESN’T HAVE A POSTCODE. NEITHER DO WE.’
Without them a fellow Mental Health worker may have lost his life last year so I feel compelled to try and do something to keep HEMS in the air!
My A-Race this year is the BMW Frankfurt Marathon which takes place on October 26th and I will be running a number of other road races leading up to this. Before each race I will be publicising my JustGiving page here on the blog, through Twitter and through Facebook in the hope that some of you might like to donate some spare change to a vital emergency service!
London’s Air Ambulance are emergency medical pioneers and have developed a number of vital life saving techniques, practices and procedures since 1989. With HEMS in the air fewer people die as a result of trauma incidents on the streets and roads of London – please give generously and support their fantastic and often life saving work.
Peace & Blessings x
