Workout Soundtrack: –

50m warm-up (freestyle)

20x25m 09:37 (freestyle)

50m warm-down (freestyle/breaststroke)

A post in two parts today really! First off my morning.

I woke early intending to go to the sauna and sweat out for about 45 minutes but when I got to the pool and saw it was empty I decided a gentle 500m wouldn’t hurt and might actually serve to loosen my muscles a little. I’m glad I decided on this course of action because my right calf did seem to feel a little better after the swim!

After my warm down I headed up to the sauna and sat almost perfectly still for 35 minutes – I focused my mind on my right calf issues and it seemed at the time to do the trick nicely. When I left the hot box for my usual cold shower the pressure on my right calf had dissipated. It didn’t exactly feel as it should but it did feel much better. I headed off home with Snickers bar in hand feeling much lighter in mind and body and a lot less nervous about my muscle aches and pains.

I headed out to my Late shift in good spirits – very much a good thing for my clients, colleagues and self as today was my last shift until 21st December when I return for the Christmas/New Year rotation! I’ll be brief here: I worked hard, cleared a lot of paperwork and had a very productive and positive meeting at the start of my shift which means one of my more, shall we say, challenging clients, will be moving into their own place on Christmas Eve – something he has wanted for the last four years! A positive last shift before heading out to Pisa 🙂

Now for the second part of the post and a recap of my evening.

I somehow managed to get the 2204 train out of Euston and was home by 2235! This happens once in a blue moon and on my arrival I found a cheque from Her Majesty’s Revenue & Customs for a tax overpayment for the last year! AMAZING. Merry Christmas from the Tax Man 🙂 From here my evening just cruised along nicely.

I decided to do my pre-holiday/marathon housework so I can have a lie in on the ‘morrow and so commenced changing bed clothes, dusting, hoovering and putting away my washing from 2305 until 0030. I’m not entirely sure my housemates appreciated the hoovering part of this but two of them have the day off tomorrow and one of them is flying to Berlin for a long weekend tomorrow night – life could be worse!

Anyway, after my impromptu late night house clean I decided there was no time like the present and commenced with packing for Pisa! Lo and behold, by 0100hrs everything was nicely and neatly packed:

Proper Preparation Prevents Poor Performance

I now have absolutely nothing to worry about tomorrow morning when I wake up! All I need to do is eat some breakfast, walk Loki, go for a gentle run, drop my house keys off to my friend who will be dog sitting, grab my bag and then have a relaxing Friday afternoon and evening before driving out to Gatwick in the early hours of Saturday morning.

I have a feeling that I’m in for possibly the best weekend of 2013. I love this feeling!

On that note dear reader, I will thank you for your continued readership and support and head off to bed!

Let's get this show on the road!

All packed and ready to go! Let’s get this marathon on the road!

Peace & Blessings x
