I woke up this morning and thought I might just give it a rest today. Then, about five minutes later, I decided I’d go for a swim and a sauna instead! Hey, it was 0830hrs and I couldn’t get back to sleep so why not?!
I’m not going to bore you all with the details – it wasn’t a fast kilometre at all and the pool was quite busy. Thankfully, I went from that busy environment into a silent and empty sauna for 35 minutes. It felt really good to just zone out and mediatate on the silence and it set me up for quite a relaxing Late shift. Granted, it’s been a slow shift but it’s kind of washed over me to large extent and nothing has wound me up or got on top of me throughout – I’m sure my colleagues appreciate it when I do a workout before a shift!
Anyway, tomorrow it’s an eight to ten miler depending on what my body is telling me when the time comes. All I can think of at the moment is getting off shift and going home to plan my Italy itinerary over a couple of Guiness! So, that’s it for today, I’m off to do just that.
