I switched around my training schedule – originally I had planned to take Saturday and Sunday as rest and recovery days but, having been invited to a wedding reception, I realised I had nothing appropriate to wear for such an occasion! You see dear reader, you are reading the ramblings of a man with a grand total of two pairs of jeans, two pairs of sweatpants, one pair of non-running related trainers and a pair of boots – oh, and a suit/shoes combo which I use for all ‘suited’ occasions such as interviews, weddings and funerals.
I decided it was about time I made a bit more of an effort with my appearance! So, off I went in search of a nice shirt (without a checked pattern), a pair of brogues (apparently they are ‘in’ right now) and a cable knit cardigan to round it off – it’s a smart casual affair you see. Frankly, the whole going shopping experience was stressful and, at times, panic inducing. It didn’t take long for it to dawn on me that I don’t really have much idea what ‘smart casual’ is, nor do I really have the foggiest about what I can and cannot pull off! Thank the higher power for some stylish friends, a constructively critical brother and a high res camera phone – not to mention some very helpful and friendly staff at various stores 🙂
I may (or may not) post a picture of my new attire at some point in the coming days and let y’all pass judgement!
With that dear reader, I’m off!
Peace & Blessings
