Running, running, just keep running!

I’ve recently added a page to the blog called ‘Races’ and I will be putting my upcoming schedule on here as well as the times for races I’ve completed. At this point it’s pretty sparse and only has one confirmed race on there as well as two that I hope to run next year, along with a potential Half Ironman.

I decided to write this post because as people who read this blog regularly will have noted I often mention ultra running and ultra races. Since coming back to running after having 6 months off I have realised that running is my passion, it’s part of who I am and it’s something that I can’t live happily without. Originally I started this blog with the intention of it focusing on my journey to my first Ironman but recently I’ve noticed that most of my posts are concerned with my running – I do more run training than cycling or swimming without a doubt. Therefore over the next few days I will be renaming the blog ‘26.2 and beyond…’ and making a few very minor aesthetic changes. I hope you will continue to follow my progress even though the focus has changed slightly!

I still intend to compete in at least one Half Ironman and one Ironman at some point during my life but I just don’t know when that will happen at the moment. I am firmly focused on running the Pisa Marathon and then, next year, running at least another marathon and a 50k ultra – I’d also like to head over to Chamonix next August to volunteer at CCC/UTMB. I will continue to swim hard and I will continue to head out on my mountain bike but I can no longer considered to be in training for a triathlon of any distance – I just enjoy swimming and mountain biking and they add a nice bit of cross training to my marathon and ultra training!

So, dear reader, I hope you will enjoy following my progress on the road and on the trails! As you will see from the ‘Races’ page mentioned above, I have just registered my interest in running the Marathon des Sables in 2016…watch this space! Thanks for reading 🙂

Peace & Blessings
